The editorial and publicity CDS group, makurdi, have once again proven to be the pacesetters for other groups. The group during its meeting on the 16th of august, 2018 held syndicate presentations for all four syndicates.

Arguments and contributions were entertained by the presenters of each syndicate. One of the topics that swayed the minds of all, was the one from syndicate four, where the presenter Ezulo Florence asked the members if #50000 allawee will help corp members save. While some corp members agreed that #50000 will make a whole lot of difference, others held a different view. One of such is Anyanwu Mercy, who said that saving is a habit and anyone with discipline can save from whatever is earned. If #20000 is not enough for you, #50000 or even #100000 would still not be enough. She said. Many others still went on to say that the currently earned #19800 is nothing compared to the many needs they have to meet monthly.

Earlier on in the meeting, the president had distributed letters to delegated members of the Ed&Pub CDs group for submission to schools with regards to the upcoming spelling bee competition organized by the group.

The competition which will be held on the 4th of October this year for junior secondary students from over fifty schools in the state capital of Benue, is an initiative introduced by members of the executive committee of the group, in order to meet up with one of the core objectives of the group and to create a tangible impact in their host community. The idea has since been applauded and accepted by both cds members and officials of Nysc in the state.
