President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to help a blind National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Okenala Ahmed, currently serving in Daura, Katsina state.
The president's senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, made this known in an announcement in Abuja on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) revealed that 28-year-old Okenala Ahmed, graduate of Insurance from the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara state, was among the corps individuals who paid Sallah tribute to President Buhari on Tuesday, August 21, in Daura. The visit was a piece of exercises to check the current year's Eid-el-Kabir festivities.
Shehu stated, over the span of the president's association with the corps individuals, the Corps Liaison Officer (CLO), Jibrin Ishak, had bid for help for their physically challenged member.
As per the CLO, the poor corps member, who is from Offa, Kwara state, had prior mulled over redeployment from Katsina because of his wellbeing condition.
Shehu unveiled that President Buhari would embrace the cost of medicinal care and treatment of Ahmed, who is an economic NYSC educator at Government Day Senior Secondary School, Daura.
The CLO, Jibrin Ishak, who talked at the occasion, expressed gratitude toward the president for organizing the welfare of the adolescent to anchor their future through his style of authority and formative activities.
He additionally spoke to the president to act the hero of the corps member, Ahmed, who was in critical need of restorative consideration.
